Anne-Lene Nöldner

(English below)

What I can see from here) performed by Anne-Lene Nöldner

If performers don’t own their work, then how do they experience it: the work, their skills, their bodies? This overarching question stemming from Chrysa Parksinson ́s concept of experiential authorship has formed the base of intimate self-interviews and movement interviews with fellow dancers throughout the past year.

In an attempt to make the gathered textual fragments converse with one another, a solitary performer evokes her absent colleagues’ testimonies by ingesting and re-enacting them in movement and speech. How to disentangle questions on authorship and creative ownership when the dancer ́s primary task is to “become” and “host” the other and the material within themselves?

Anne-Lene Nöldner is a dance artist and performer. The performative essays are a momentary outcome of the 1 year research “A Newer Narrative” on dancer’s authorship and auto-fictional narrative practices. The project allows her to process the conundrums and particularities coming with a profession that requires to simultaneously be and create the material for the work.
Anne-Lene spends the summer at ETE 78 writing and assembling documentary texts and recordings of interview partners into a dissonant choir.
